Asheville, NC– I spent a year of my life living on the coast of North Carolina, in a very pretty beach town, but nothing compared to my visit to Asheville. Worth the seven hour car journey from my house; Asheville, North Carolina is gorgeous. The mountains are just incredible.

We had hoped to catch the beginning of the autumnal colors on our hikes, but unfortunately it was a little too early for the height of Fall. We went hiking in Blue Ridge Parkway and even just the drive up was breathtaking.

Asheville is a really lovely city with a lot of character, the famous drum circle downtown was something I had never experienced before, and a burrito from Mamacitas made my very achey body happy. The food spots throughout were insane. I still think about the BBQ spot 12 Bones to this day. The queue to the door was leading out of the parking lot, but it was definitely worth the wait. It had an authentic southern vibe inside and even some pictures of Obama visiting the restaurant (Thanks Obama). I had a pulled pork sandwich, BBQ beans and sweet potato mash, and I think I died out of pure happiness. I drank Cheerwine with it to really go all out, and I need to go back soon!
